Komputer OLTP XO yang diprakarsai oleh Nicholas Negroponte memenangkan
penghargaan di People's Choice di Denmark.
Laptop XO dikhususkan untuk para pelajar, dengan baterai yg di-isi
pakai ongkel atau tali pemutar generator listrik, sehingga dapat
dipakai dipedesaan yg belum ada listriknya.
Ini cocok untuk progran Desa Pintar USO. Makanya kita usulkan agar
jangan kembangkan Desa Berdering, sebab orang desa mau ngomong sama
siapa di kota? Selain biayanya mahal, juga tidak banyak manfaatnya.
Saran kita, langsung saja kembangkan Desa Pintar, yg bisa akses
berbagai info digital melalui Internet, atau local Server yg berisi
data2 digital untuk mencerdaskan masyarakat pedesaan.
Kalau mau telpon, pakai Voip/Skype saja yg terinstall di OLTP,
biayanya gratis atau sangat murah!
Mudah2an saran ini belum terlambat, sebelum diadakannya Tender USO,
sehingga dana besar USO lebih bermanfaat bagi kemajuan masyarakat
pedesaan.

The XO Laptop is about the size of a textbook and lighter than a
lunchbox, making it easy for children to carry. XO is designed to be
used in parts of the world where many classes are taught outside, and
therefore it is sunlight-readable as well as shock and moisture
resistant. In order for students to interact, a mobile ad-hoc network
allows many machines to gain internet access from one connection and a
maze-network connects all the laptops within reach. The XO can be
hand-powered and comes with at least two of three options: A crank, a
